Pebble Beach Golf Links, USA
Built in the 1919 Pebble Beach field owes its existence to Samuel F. Morse, nephew and namesake of the inventor of the telegraph and famous telegraphic code.
Morse bought this stunning piece of land on the California coast in the South Pacific Railroad Company. The original plan a golf course, stretching through the rocks from the ocean to the forest Del Monte Forest, has developed Jack Neville, which was not the architect of golf courses, but a broker for the sale of land. No matter how beautiful the landscape was not for the golfer's golf course at Pebble Beach remains one of the toughest tests. Several times there were major tournaments such as the US Open, and once a year at Pebble Beach is National Pro-Am, in which competing professional golfers, and Hollywood stars. Unforgettable and forever imprinted in the history of American golf has become a duel between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson during the US Open 1982. Nicklaus was free to get fifth title US Open, but Watson on the last two (17th and 18th), managed to make incredible holes. These holes are surrounded by ocean and bunkers, and on the 18th in addition is a tree, but Watson was able to score the ball and spent at each hole on a hit less than provides pairs (as many strikes called birdie) and win the title.
