The cost of a 61-meter motor yacht Phoenix reduced by 10 million euros.

As expected, the day after the auction, in which a 67-meter yacht Apoise was sold for 34 million Euros, the owner of the yacht Phoenix, Mr. Kulchek decided to reduce the price immediately on 10 million euros.

Now the new price of the yacht is 55 million Euros.

Train of thought of Phoenix yacht owner is ​​simple and clear:

1) The Phoenix yacht was built by at Lurssen shipyard in 2004, the yacht Apoise in 2006 (difference in 2 years is important)

2) Phoenix yacht a length of 61 m, yacht Apoise 66,44 m (Phoenix is "shorter" to 5.5 meters)

3) Phoenix yacht has the interior volume of 1.444 GT (gross tons), the yacht Apoise 1.800 GT.

The owner simply compared the two yachts, and realized that his boat by no means can cost twice as much the best Apoise yacht.

"The best" - it is wrong to say everyone has different tastes, but what Apois much larger and newer, that's for sure.

It should be noted that comparing the prices of the yacht must not in length, but in the gross registered tonnage (GRT). It takes into account not only the length of the boat, but the width and height of decks.

For example, the only way to objectively compare the price of the 60-meter yacht of Feadship shipyards, usually with a GRT of about 1.000 GT, and the yacht of Lurssen shipyards, having the same 60-meter length, but the breadth and as a consequence, much larger amounts of interior (more 1.200 GT).

After all, one meter wide felt immediately, and multiply it by the length and then the number of decks!
